Motor insurance, compulsory motor insurance, CASCO insurance, compulsory civil liability insurance of vehicle owners. Why do you need motor insurance?

Motor insurance is needed to minimise financial losses if your car is stolen or damaged in a road accident, an accident of another kind, a natural disaster and so on. CASCO car insurance is quite popular among car owners, even though it is relatively expensive. Car insurance will help you feel more confident on the road. CASCO car insurance is voluntary and not mandatory, but it has advantages over compulsory insurance, the main one being that you can receive compensation even if you yourself are at fault for the accident or the damage to the car.

What does AUTO CASCO insure against?

A CASCO policy applies if a brick or an icicle falls on the roof of the car from a building, if a nearby tree falls, if the car is damaged by hooligans or football fans, if hail dents the roof, and so on. CASCO insurance does not work if you hand over control of the insured car to a person who is not permitted by the contract to drive your car or who did not have a driving licence at the time of the accident, if the car was used outside the territory of insurance, if the insured car took part in competitions, tests or driving lessons, in the event of the effects of a nuclear explosion or radiation, as a result of military action, or seizure, arrest or destruction on the orders of state bodies, and in other cases.

Car CASCO protects it against more risks than compulsory motor third-party liability insurance. CASCO insurance (Auto CASCO) protects the car and its owner from the many problems that arise when so-called insured events occur (road accident, natural disasters, fire, falling heavy objects, car theft and others) and reimburses the cost of repairing the damaged car. The set of insured events is determined when the motor insurance contract is concluded. CASCO insurance will also help you sell your car on more favourable terms, since by the time of sale it will not need major repairs or serious financial outlay.

What can insurers guarantee?

Under a CASCO policy, insurers can offer three forms of compensation: repair of the car at the insurer's service station, a cash payment, and reimbursement of the cost of a repair you arrange yourself. If the car cannot be repaired or is lost irretrievably, the client can receive the maximum CASCO payment. Its amount is calculated by the insurer's appraiser or by an independent expert. Some insurers may offer a "replacement car" service, that is, provide the client with a car to use for a time if the insured car has broken down or been stolen.

Why do you need insurance agencies?

Insurance agencies, as a rule, give the client a choice of several insurers offering different terms for Auto CASCO and help to choose and arrange the best motor insurance option. The advantage of an insurance agency is that it offers a wide choice of insurance products and comprehensive client service. Car CASCO may also include original insurance products (policy options) offered by one insurer or another.

How much will CASCO cost you?

When calculating motor insurance, the price of a CASCO policy can be reduced through discounts and restrictions in the contract. The final cost of CASCO will depend on the rates set by the company and the range of additional services provided by the insurer. To calculate the cost of CASCO, you need the car owner's personal data and the technical specifications of the car. The cost of CASCO also depends on whether your car was bought on credit; in that case CASCO is likely to cost more.

You can calculate CASCO with the help of insurance brokers, who select the most convenient offers for you, or on your own, without an agent, using a CASCO calculator. After you enter the necessary data, the CASCO calculator automatically works out the cost of the insurance. The cost calculated with an Auto CASCO calculator takes into account parameters such as the make, model, engine size and year of manufacture of the car, the type of alarm installed, the driver's age and driving experience, and so on. You should calculate CASCO to find out how to buy a cheaper policy. With an Auto CASCO calculator you can work out the cost of CASCO for more than 20 different options.

How does CASCO "work"?

The most convenient way to calculate motor insurance is with a manager, by filling in a request for selection of a CASCO programme. CASCO motor insurance usually includes ordering and delivery of the policy. CASCO motor insurance provides compensation for damage within 7 days of the submission of documents, and compensation for theft within 20 days. To use CASCO insurance, you must submit a notice of the insured event, the vehicle documents, your driving licence and a certificate in the form established for insurers.
