The insurance company of the Alatau City Bank ecosystem

Alatau City Garant: digital general insurance with S&P and AM Best ratings

JSC Insurance Company “Alatau City Garant” is a universal insurer that has operated in the Kazakhstan market since 2008. Until July 2025 the company was known as Jusan Garant, and after rebranding it joined the single Alatau City ecosystem together with the bank and the investment company. Today it has 11 branches across the country, international financial strength ratings and a strong online channel: most popular policies can be calculated and purchased on the website or in the bank’s app.

From Jusan Garant to Alatau City Garant

The company was registered in 2008 and for a long time developed as the insurance arm of a banking group. On 14 July 2025 state re-registration was completed: JSC Insurance Company “Jusan Garant” received a new name — JSC Insurance Company “Alatau City Garant”. The rebranding was part of the group’s strategy and did not affect obligations to clients: all previously concluded contracts remained in force on the same terms, and the regional network operated without interruption. The insurance licence was reissued under the new name: the current ARDFM licence No. 2.1.22 was issued on 29.07.2025.

According to ARDFM, the company belongs to the insurance group of JSC Alatau City Bank, which acts as the insurance holding. As a result, bank customers can buy insurance products directly in the bank’s mobile app, and the company itself uses the bank’s infrastructure for sales and servicing.

How to report an insured event

  1. Choose the type of event

The “Insured event” section of the website has separate scenarios for MTPL, CASCO, health, property, travel and passenger transportation, along with step-by-step instructions.

  2. Determine the settlement procedure

After an accident you can choose to proceed with a police report or use the Euro Protocol without calling the police, if the conditions for the simplified procedure are met.

  3. Upload documents

For an online claim you will need an ID, the vehicle registration certificate and police materials, and details of the at-fault party and the injured party. An online MTPL claim is available if there is one injured party in the accident; if there are several, you need to visit the nearest office.

  4. Wait for the decision

The company reviews the claim, assesses the damage and transfers the payment; you can check the status in your personal account or with contact centre specialists.

Important: under regulatory requirements, access to the digital services of financial organisations is possible only after identification, so when buying MTPL on the insurer’s website you will need to pass a biometric face check and confirm a phone number registered in the state database.
