Polis Re has its own corporate style

Our corporate colors: Red, Black, White.

I am happy to be red! My gut is on fire, I am confident

in myself, I stand out, I know I am hard to beat.
I do not hide: what matters most to me is not subtlety, elegance
and tenderness, but determination and will. I act openly.
I am not afraid of other colors, shadows, clutter or
solitude. How wonderful it is to fill a surface
with my triumphant fire!

Facts you may have known:

  • The oldest colors, the first to appear in human culture, are usually considered to be white, black and red.
  • Red is the first color that children distinguish after birth, and that people who have temporarily lost their color vision distinguish.
  • The Russian word for "red" acquired the meaning of the color of blood in the 15th-16th centuries. It was inherited from the Old Russian word "chervlenyi", because carmine, a bright red dye, was obtained in Rus from scale insects (cochineal; the "chervlenyi" color). The name of the month when these insects breed, "chervenya" (July), is also formed from this root. The name "chervonets" comes from the word "chervonny", that is, red. Chervonny gold is a high-fineness alloy of gold with copper that has a reddish tint.
  • It is the color of love, activity, blood, struggle, prohibition, danger, error and revolution. The psychological manifestations of red: love of life, excitability, a drive for dominance, sexuality (Max Lüscher).
  • In America red symbolizes love, in China kindness, celebration and good luck, in India life; in Russia red originally meant "beautiful". In most countries, from China to Africa, people associate red with prosperity and high status.
  • The red flag was not an invention of the Bolsheviks, as is commonly believed. In the Middle Ages red was a sign of supreme power and then became the color of uprisings; it was used during the Paris Commune of 1871. The red flag in the British Royal Navy has existed since the 17th century and symbolizes a challenge to battle.
  • Red is the color of anarchy. The supporters of the Italian national leader Giuseppe Garibaldi were called Redshirts, because they wore red shirts as a sign of defiance of the authorities.
  • There is a misconception that bulls react to the color red. This is not so: bulls have dichromatic vision. Their eyes have only 2 types of light-sensitive proteins, whereas humans have three. The third protein, which bulls lack, is closest to the red end of the spectrum. That is why bulls can tell blue from green, but cannot tell green from red. It can be said that any bright cloth may irritate them. Bullfighters take advantage of this by shaking the capote (a red cloth) in front of the charging bull, while herdsmen wear clothes in drab gray and black tones.
  • Red is perceived faster than other colors because it has the longest wavelength in the visible spectrum. Of all colors, red looks the "heaviest" in weight and white the "lightest". The heavier the color a figure is painted in, the smaller its size seems. On the flags of French ships the ratio of the stripes is 33:30:37 (blue, white, red).
  • Red stimulates decision-making. For example, 28% of respondents were able to state their position clearly in a questionnaire printed in red, and only 10% in the same questionnaire printed in black.
  • Red intensifies various human sensations: it causes an apparent increase in the loudness of noises and sounds, and also heightens taste: food on red dishes or next to red objects seems tastier and more fragrant. Want to lose weight? Eat from blue plates :).
  • Red lighting raises blood pressure and speeds up the heartbeat. It is no accident that red lanterns have long been used to attract customers to brothels. People tend to leave a red room faster. The opposite sex perceives people dressed in red as more attractive than in other colors.
  • Red is used for short-term activation of activity. For example, Aivazovsky worked in a room painted red, which stimulated his creativity. Prolonged exposure to this color, on the contrary, leads to fatigue. Painting telephone booths red was meant, among other things, to make a person end the conversation sooner: people try to get out of a red room as quickly as possible.
  • Since the 18th century, a red thread has been woven into the ropes of the English fleet. This innovation was prompted by the increase in thefts from ships. The red thread showed that an item belonged to the English fleet. Goethe used this expression in his novel "Elective Affinities". Thanks to him the expression "to run like a red thread through" became an idiom and was borrowed from German by many languages.
  • In old manuscripts the text was usually written in black ink or India ink, while the initial letters of paragraphs were decorated with cinnabar (a very expensive red paint or ink at the time). These letters, and after them all the first lines of paragraphs and chapters, were called "red". With the transition to printed books the old custom gradually died out, and only the expression "from the red line" (the Russian term for starting a new paragraph) remained.
