Freedom Life Life Insurance Company JSC
Freedom Life is a Kazakhstani life insurance company that has operated in the market since 2014 and belongs to the international investment group Freedom Holding Corp. The company's main goal is to move life insurance fully online: most programmes can be arranged remotely in a few minutes. The product range includes more than 40 insurance products, and the number of clients exceeds 2.6 million.
The company's journey
The insurer began operating in Kazakhstan in 2014 under the name Asia Life, and since the end of 2018 it has developed under the Freedom brand. In 2022 the company joined Freedom Holding Corp., a holding whose shares are listed on the Nasdaq Capital Market. Today Freedom Life is part of the Freedom digital ecosystem, and its clients can use insurance products together with other services of the group.
In recent years the company has launched a number of fully digital products: online coronavirus insurance, subscription-based critical illness insurance, and several online life insurance programmes, including savings ones. Freedom Life actively cooperates with major Kazakhstani e-commerce platforms, and in 2026 it announced that the transfer of pension savings from the UAPF to the company to buy an annuity is now done fully online.

Regulation and supervision
Freedom Life is licensed and supervised by the Agency of the Republic of Kazakhstan for Regulation and Development of the Financial Market (ARDFM). Its current licence is No. 2.2.14 of 22.07.2024. Information on the company's management, major shareholders and branches is published by the regulator in its list of financial organisations.
According to ARDFM, the company's management board is chaired by Azamat Yerdesov and its board of directors by Timur Turlov. Freedom Life's insurance holding is Freedom Finance JSC, a Kazakhstani company of the Freedom group. The head office is in Almaty, and 17 branches operate in Almaty, Astana, Semey, Atyrau, Kostanay, Aktau, Ust-Kamenogorsk, Shymkent, Karaganda, Kokshetau, Taraz, Uralsk, Aktobe, Petropavlovsk, Kyzylorda, Pavlodar and Taldykorgan, that is, in practically all regions of the country.
Ratings and protection of obligations
In September 2026 Moody's Ratings assigned Freedom Life an insurance financial strength rating of "Baa3" in national and foreign currencies with a stable outlook. This is an investment-grade rating. S&P Global Ratings rates the company "BB+" on the international scale and "kzAA" on the national scale, also with a stable outlook. Additional protection of the portfolio is provided by reinsurance with the German General Reinsurance AG, which holds high S&P and Moody's ratings.

How to report an insured event
Report the event
Contact Freedom Life through the contact centre or the company's official online channels as early as possible.
Prepare a claim
State the policy number, the insured person's details and a description of what happened.
Collect the documents
Medical and other supporting documents, according to the list in the insurance rules of your programme.
Receive the payment
After reviewing the documents, the company makes a decision and transfers the compensation.
